Happy Summer To You All!
QUESTION: How are you today?
When reading this question, what is the first thing that pops into your mind?
How many of you answered with a 1 syllable word?
Perhaps it was “Good. Fine. Okay. Well.”
Now, bear with us as we would invite you to participate in a “social experiment” of sorts… with exactly the same question.
Only this time, your answer must be at least a 3-syllable word.
QUESTION: How are you today?
What happened when answering with a 3 syllable word?
Did you feel a bit more energized? Did it pick up your pace? (Or..did it at least help you want to pick up your pace?)
It’s interesting to see a reaction to this question when answered with an “Outstanding” vs. a “Good”. Often times, an “OUTSTANDING” or “INCREDIBLE” will evoke feelings of motivation in others (“if they are outstanding, then I want to be too!”)
Even if the answer is said in the same tone of voice, the energy released with the 3-syllable word has the potential to change YOUR day and, in turn, shift OTHER PEOPLE’S DAY too.
Expanding your vocabulary beyond the 1-syllable word to this frequently asked question has the power to teach you your creative potential AND, it gives everyone around you permission to activate their own creative potential as well.
We have a July “social experiment” challenge for you….raise your hand if you are in?
For the rest of this month, we challenge you to answer this infamous question ONLY with a (positive) 3-syllable word.
At first this may be challenging as it will require you to stop and think before just rambling off the standard 1-syllable answer. But, after a few days of doing this, it will become habitual and the magic of this energy is contagious.
Then…we want to hear all about it!
We invite you to Get Social with us regarding this “social experiment.” Facebook, Insta or tweet, tweet your experience and let us know how this little change in verbiage has impacted your life and those around you.
One of our favorite quotes comes from Marianne Williamson and goes a little something like this….Happy Reading and here’s to a PHENOMENAL day!
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
