Have you ever heard the saying…”What is the definition of Insanity? It’s doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” I love that quote because it rings so true for so many people and what happens in their lives.
Perhaps you find some truth to that saying when you look at your life, and yet why is that? For most people it is because they are afraid to make a change, afraid to take a chance, afraid to take a risk because they think they will fail.
The key to failure is recognizing that it will happen to everyone. At one point or another in your life time you will fail… and for most of us it will be many times.
However, what will set you apart from failing v. being a FAILURE is all in your perception and what the challenge teaches you. When you take the time to look at what has happened, see where you made a mistake, understand that you can try again and do better, and then you begin the process of “failing forward”.
Failure can be your best friend or your worst enemy it’s all in your attitude. So many times people give up or get discouraged when things don’t go exactly as they had planned. I see this often in direct sales, the trend of quitting the first time someone has a struggle like a canceled party, unmade sale, or “no” from a potential team member. The person immediately jumps ship and joins the next up and coming company because they think it will be better. However, what do they really find? They move from company to company thinking it will be different but in reality it exactly the same, with the same struggles and challenges. They expect things to be different but they don’t want to put forth the effort to be different or better.
Life is full of obstacles, challenges and difficulties. How you handle those adversities is what will make the difference. When you focus on what you can do to improve and overcome the challenges, is when you will truly understand the difference between failing and being a failure. You are a failure when you give up on yourself, your dreams and your goals. Learning from your mistakes and not repeating them is what will make you successful in the end.
